Salads in general are popular in Poland but the kind of salads that are made usually depend on the season. In spring and summer when fresh ingredients are easily available you will find that Poles tend to eat light and fresh salads. These are very tasty but they are also cooling which really helps with the summer heat.
One of my absolute favorites is the Polish egg and lettuce salad. It is an old recipe that my mother used every summer. It was always one of my favorite dinners. The best part about this recipe is that it is really easy to make and it requires just 5 minutes to put together.
No one wants to be in a hot kitchen in the summer and this is one of those recipes that helps you get in and out of the kitchen really fast. It also does not compromise on the nutritional quality of the meal because it uses fresh lettuce, eggs and boiled potatoes. This provides the perfect balance of fiber, carbohydrates, proteins and fats!
