We start with saltine crackers. They get soft and soak up all the yummy flavors. Then we add layers of tuna with mayonnaise, cheese with mayonnaise, and egg whites with mayonnaise. Each layer is creamy and delicious!

On top, we sprinkle crushed egg yolks for extra flavor and color. Then we decorate with radish slices and chives to make it look pretty.

How To Make The Saltine Crackers Layered Salad?

Step 1 – Prepare The Cheese Layer

Mix shredded cheese with 2,5 tbsps of the mayonnaise. Add some pepper if you want.

Step 2 – Prepare The Tuna Layer

Drain the tuna. Mix it with 2,5 tbsps of the mayonnaise.

Step 3 – Prepare The Egg Layer

Hard-boil the eggs. Separate egg whites from egg yolks.

Grate egg whites then mix them with 2 tbsps of mayonnaise. You may add chopped chives as well.

Crush or finely grate egg yolks.

Step 4 – Assemble The Salad

  • 1 package of saltine crackers
  • 2 cans of tuna
  • 6 oz / 170g of shredded cheese
  • 7 tbsps of mayonnaise
  • 5 hard-boiled eggs
  • chives & radish to decorate

Instructions

  1. Mix shredded cheese with 2,5 tbsps of the mayonnaise. Add some pepper if you want.
  2. Mix drained tuna with 2,5 tbsps of the mayonnaise.
  3. Separate cooked egg whites from egg yolks.
  4. Grate egg whites then mix them with 2 tbsps of mayonnaise. You may add chopped chives as well.
  5. Crush or finely grate egg yolks.
  6. Assemble the salad in the following order:
  • Put the first layer of saltine crackers on the flat board. For Polish crackers (that are typically larger) it's 4 vertically and 3 horizontally.
  • Spread the cheese-mayo layer on the crackers.
  • Cover with the second layer of the crackers.
  • Spread the tuna layer on the crackers.
  • Cover with the last layer of crackers.
  • Spread egg white layer on top of the salad.
  • Decorate with grated egg yolks, radish, and chives.

7. Place the salad in the fridge and wait for at least 3 hours before you start serving it.
