The Polish leek salad recipe is a traditional salad that’s loved by kids. Easy to make in under 5 minutes, you’ll come back for seconds of the surowka z pora or salatka z pora!

One of my childhood favorites, this Polish leek salad recipe is a regular feature at our dinner table. A cool and refreshing side dish, the apple leek salad is usually eaten with meats for dinner.

There is another similar salad made with leeks and carrots called surowka z pora marchewki, but the surowka z pora made with leeks and apples taste so much better. And the kids love it!

 How To Make The Apple Leek Salad

To make this salad you simply chop the leeks into half moons and dice the apple into cubes. Next, mix everything – the leeks, apples, canned corn, mayo, vinegar or lime juice, salt, and pepper together, and the Polish Apple Leek salad is ready to serve! Simple, isn’t it?

  • 1 leek (the white part only)
  • ½ of apple
  • 1 tbsp of canned corn
  • 2 tbsps of mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp of fresh lemon juice or vinegar
  • fresh parsley/dill (optionally)
  • salt, pepper

  1. Cut the leek into half-moons.
  2. Peel and dice the apple.
  3. Mix all the ingredients together. Season with salt and pepper.
